Come, take my hand, I’ll lead the way
Through darkest night, through grayest day
We’ll face all pain and all your fear
Through barricades, the last frontier
Until steep hills and walls decay
Should sunless roads lead us astray
Or smothered thoughts your smile betray
We’ll make it through, we’ll dry your tear
Come, take my hand
A remnant smile each time you weigh
How long this lasts, how long its stay
Your breath is deep; your eyes are clear
Your time has come; the end is near
Come, take my hand

“Get out of my bedroom!” Sweat was running through her tousled hair and down her spine.
She threatened the nightly shadows with a book: “I kill you! I swear you're so dead!”
Nothing.
“Just piss off and leave me alone!”
The mosquito bzzzed one last time, landed on the wardrobe, and watched the drama unfold.

Oleska ran through the labyrinth of rye stalks, weaving through the thin aisles, unhindered by hems or skirts or bare feet—she was wearing trousers and boots. Although sixteen years old, she still wasn’t quite tall enough to see over the sea of grain, making it difficult keeping a bead on the man she was pursuing—Yosef’s blond hair blended with the grain almost seamlessly; and he was gaining distance.
But Yosef made a mistake—he passed by a loaded wagon, obviously hoping the obstacle would slow Oleska down… but instead she ran straight for it, planted her foot on the bed, on a sack of grain, another sack
I can feel her coming. She's galumphing and trundling over the wooden floor like an old steam train. It's an outrageous lie to call her and her kin light-footed. Her pitter-patter sounds like sabre rattling, her purr like a battle cry. She's pitiless. First she'll rub her head against my old and broken leg, then she'll stretch herself, circle me and sniff on my back before she rams her claws into it. She doesn't even have the decency to attack from the front. It will take between 26 and 58 seconds until the old lady will interrupt this daily torture. I counted.
